Are you In or Out of the Cabinet? Spice Rack Storage Debate!

There seem to be two schools of thought towards spice storage. One group maintains that it’s best for spices to be kept in lightproof, airtight containers in your cabinet. The other group knows this – but can’t resist the convenience of having spices on the counter and readily available. The convenience outweighs the fact that sunlight and heat from the stove seriously compromises the quality of spices. Me, like Johnny Cash, I walk the line. I like keeping my spices in the cupboard when I’m not cooking, but when I’m rattling the pots and pans I like to have all my seasoning options in front of me. (more…)
